Weekly Stories: Snapchat to set up main international hub in UK

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jan/10/snapchat-snap-inc-international-hub-uk

Snap Inc says more than 60% of British smartphone users aged between 13 and 34 use Snapchat.

Snapchat has decided to set up a main International hub in the UK despite the fears that other businesses have had in regards to Brexit.
  • Where more than 10 million daily Snapchatters are (in regards to UK)
  •  More than 60% of British smartphone users aged between 13 and 34 are Snapchatters.
  • eMarketer estimates the company could pull in almost $1bn advertising revenue over 2017
In my opinion, I think that this would be quite a risky move on Snapchat's behalf. This would be because of the fact that Brexit is an uncertain decision that has been frowned upon. This would be because of the lack of knowing what this would do and so therefore this may be risky. Although this may mean that Snapchat can be considered more trust worthy and less controversial than Google or Facebook as they would try and avoid tax.
